Tips to make Homemade soap and Hand-Wash:
HOMEMADE BODY WASH RECIPE
Apricot oil (or almond oil, jojoba oil, etc)
optional – essential oils
Fill an empty bottle up a fourth of the way with liquid castile soap. I use Dr. Bronner’s castile soap, typically.
Next, add in your favorite oil. I like apricot oil because it’s on the cheaper side, but almond oil or jojoba oil will work great, too! 3 tablespoons will do for a 16oz bottle. However, if your bottle is smaller, a tablespoon or two will be enough.
Then, add in a tablespoon of vitamin E. Again, adjust accordingly depending on the size of your bottle.
While I don’t typically add in essential oils, you can certainly opt to. Add these in now with the oils and give the bottle a good swirl.
Lastly, fill the bottle the rest of the way up with water, cap it, and shake.
The oils will, of course, separate from the water. To incorporate them together again, I give the bottle a good shake before I wash my body.
And there you have it – now you know how to make homemade body wash if you run out, or want to try a cheaper but quality product.
Homemade Liquid Hand Soap Recipe
Liquid castile soap
Oil (such as apricot or hemp)
Vitamin E – Optional
Essential oils – Optional
Fill about a quarter of the bottle with liquid castile soap.
Add 2 teaspoons of an oil of your choice – two good options may be apricot or hemp oil. You can even use olive oil.
You may also add a teaspoon or two of vitamin E oil for added skin benefits.
Add 15-20 drops of your choice of essential oil. Lemongrass is a favorite of mine. This time I used clove, cinnamon and thieves since we are in the middle of the cold and flu season. This combo smells great, too!
Slowly fill the bottle up the rest of the way with water. Screw the top on and give it a gentle shake to incorporate everything.
Before use, you may want to give it a gentle swirl to combine the oils back into the soap mixture.
