The art of DIY

Alvin Toffler (the author of Future Shock) wrote:- “The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.”


DIY is, among other things, about”the courage to screw up” and “an opportunity to use your hands and brain.” said by Mark Frauenfelder, editor-in-chief of Makemagazine. 

DIY is nothing new, but were forgotten for an era.  It is our personal involvement of making things and use of skills in upkeep of a house or apartment, making clothes; maintenance of cars, computers, websites; or any material aspect of living.  But, we recently refurbished this lost art for many years.

Knowledge: DIY is completely based upon person’s knowledge on the subject which capable her/him to make things by his own.

Skills: It requires certain skill and practice.

Personal touch: DIY is completely based out of your learning, your own taste to it and never the less your emotions too.

Satisfaction: The enormous feeling of satisfaction that comes from building your own equipment. This is worth far more than money.

Earning:  A number of DIYers I’ve met have succeeded in turning their passion for making things from a hobby into a business. Apart from doing your regular job, DIY selling helps to boost up your financial state and you can save little extra money into your bank account.

Appreciation:  DIYers understand and appreciate hours of patience understand and appreciate human made world, the importance of crafts or any goods they buy or see. After All, they know how much energy, hours of hardwork and patience it needs to drilling, tapping threads, filing and finishing a case are all tasks that need to be done to complete the masterpiece. These are all skills that may just come in very handy later on.
